For the varsity Lady Jackets, the match was a chance to turn the tables after falling to Camdenton in four close sets during last season’s home opener.

“We definitely had every intention to make it a different end result this season in earning the win,” Lebanon Head Coach Jenny Collins said. “It’s always a fun, exciting atmosphere when Lebanon and Camdenton meet up.”

Lebanon took the first two sets, 27-25 and 25-15, before Camdenton battled back to win the third, 28-26. The Lady Jackets answered quickly in the fourth, taking an early lead and holding on for a 25-16 win to close out the match.

“I’m proud of our team and the way that they responded after falling short in the third set,” Collins said. “We jumped out on top early in the set and were able to continue to hold that lead until the end of the set.”

Liv Ahmann and Rikki Reimers led the Lebanon offense with 20 and 15 kills, respectively. Setter Harper Starnes finished with 36 assists and did a good job finding Ahmann and Reimers quickly in transition, often giving them one-on-one opportunities at the net.

Serve receive has also been a major focus for Lebanon, and Collins credited Reimers, Brayli Ogle and Kenzie Uder with helping the Lady Jackets stay in system and create aggressive opportunities offensively.

Ogle led Lebanon with 21 digs, while Starnes and Reimers each recorded 14. Starnes had three aces and Graicyn Hazlewood added two. Ahmann finished with two kill blocks, while Reimers recorded one.

Jalee Barker had two aces, Ty Weaver recorded three kills and Allie Tipton added two. Elise Rhoades finished with 12 assists. Weaver and Tipton each recorded a kill block, while Keely Uder led the defense with 18 digs and Brinley Carr added six.

The freshman Lady Jackets also went three sets, bouncing back after a 28-26 loss in the opening set. Lebanon won the second 25-23 before taking the deciding set 15-11.
