Sidney Wilson Murder Case Continues Through Laclede County Circuit Court — Lebanon Now

The Laclede County murder case against Sidney Fredrick Wilson returned to court Tuesday, September 8, with the case continued and another status review scheduled for November.

According to the latest court docket, Wilson appeared in custody for Tuesday’s hearing. Prosecuting Attorney Amy Folsom appeared for the state, while attorney Masri appeared on behalf of Wilson’s attorney, Branden Twibell.

During Tuesday’s court session, Wilson also requested a discussion of a plea deal. No agreement or resolution related to that request is reflected in the docket entry from the hearing.

The court reset the case for a status review on November 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. before Judge Kenneth Michael Hayden.

Wilson Faces Four Felony Charges

Wilson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action stemming from two deaths prosecutors allege occurred June 5, 2025, in Laclede County.

According to the criminal information filed by the Laclede County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, prosecutors allege Wilson, “after deliberation, knowingly caused the death” of each victim. The accompanying armed criminal action counts allege the murders were committed through the knowing use, assistance or aid of a deadly weapon.

Wilson has pleaded not guilty.

Change of Judge Granted

Wilson’s defense filed an application for a change of venue and change of judge in October 2025.

A hearing on those requests was held December 15, 2025. Court records show the request for a change of judge was granted, and the case was sent to the presiding judge’s office for judicial assignment.

Judge Kenneth Michael Hayden was assigned to the case on December 17.

The change of venue request has remained part of the case as proceedings continued. At a January 5 case review, the docket stated the “Motion for Change of Venue passed” and directed counsel to re-notice the matter. Additional case reviews followed in April and July.

At the July 6 hearing, the defense requested another status review, resulting in Tuesday’s hearing.

Tuesday’s docket shows the hearing was continued/rescheduled, with the case set to return to court November 3 at 10 a.m.

Wilson remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

The case is State of Missouri v. Sidney Wilson, Cause No. 25LA-CR00702-01, in the Circuit Court of Laclede County.
